ONLINE VOTE: Endorse funding LA Public Bank now

From Mike Feinstein, Ajay Rai

Background: The LA Budget Vote is coming up very soon.  Thus this expedited vote.  The issue is that LA faces a $1B budget deficit yet it sends billions to Wall Street year after year. Why bankroll big banks when we can build our own? A Public Bank would keep LA’s money local, building homes people can afford, powering neighborhood businesses, and upgrading our city for a climate-resilient future.

This proposal would sign the GPLAC on the list of endorsers for this position.  Read more here

Because this is an expedited vote, County Council members must vote yes/no/abstain to expedite the vote and then yes/no/abstain on the proposal itself

Proposal:  Yes to expedite the vote and yes to sign the GPLAC on as an endorses to the public statement that the City Council should fund the LA Public Bank in this years budget

With this proposal having received enough votes to pass, and with the April 11 deadline fast approaching for the LA Public Bank letter to be sent, I have reported the GPLAC endorsement to Public Bank LA
