Description: Joe Louis Hoffman (Wildman) passed away on April 4, 2021. Greens who were active with Joe during the founding of the GPCA and afterwards will share their remembrances.
Joe was a co-founder of the GPCA and a key organizer of the party’s founding ballot drive, especially as a coordinator of the 'Q Group', to coordinate the gathering of voter registrations to qualify the party. During that same time (in 1991), he wrote the classic 'Organizing Velcro County', a guide for Green grassroots organizing in your county.
From September 1997 to March 2020, Joe served as GPCA State Treasurer. During that time, he sponsored the Project 2000 proposal, a growth plan for the party.
In 1998 Joe ran for Mendocino County Supervisor (https://www.gpelections.org/races/joe-louis-hoffman-runs-for-board-of-supervisors/ , https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1998-oct-18-mn-33926-story.html , https://greenpagesnews.org/2008/10/26/greens-set-sights-high-for-98/) and received this publicity about his clever campaign slogans (https://www.sfgate.com/politics/article/Roll-On-Over-for-a-Stand-Up-Comic-From-Mendocino-3007736.php), which are shown in these images (click on each to expand).
