Background: Dueñas will discuss ideas she has for future GPLAC-sponsored events
8) Discussion: Report back from GPCA General Assembly, GPLAC process at General Assembly (20 minutes)
Presenters: Rai/Russell as co-coordinators
Background: This item it to hear from GPLAC members who were present at the recent GPCA General Assembly, and to discuss how delegates voted and how additional delegates are chosen.
9) Discussion: Results of Standing General Assembly elections for GPCA Coordinating Committee and GPUS Delegation (10 minutes)

Background: These elections are scheduled at the end of June 2018.
10) Discussion: Status of GPLAC access to GPCA Nationbuilder Data Base, update on implementation of GPLAC Nationbuilder Data Base and overall GPLAC/GPCA relationship. (30 minutes)

Background: Update from Feinstein, Rai and Russell on discussions with GPCA, and from Feinstein on implementation of GPLAC Nationbuilder Data Base. Discussion of long term relations between GPCA and GPLAC.
11) Decision: Update from GPLAC-endorsed Congressional candidates whose campaigns will be on the November ballot and outreach efforts on their behalf (25 minutes)

Background: This item is to hear from the two GPLAC-endorsed Congressional candidates whose campaigns will be on the November ballot and to approve outreach efforts on their behalf. The item is placed later in the agenda to eliminate time conflicts in order to allow each candidate do Sunday afternoon campaigning first. This item may also include call-in participation from members of the GPUS Youth Caucus, who are also supporting these candidates.

12) Decision: Discussion of Choosing Delegates for 2018-2019 GPCA SGA (15 minutes)

Background: The GPCA passed a new bylaw at the June 9-10 General Assembly affecting how SGA delegates are chosen https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BonfkeuZlz-jK1qmzD6umbXBx-5Ed-nqGo3s This agenda item is meant to review that change, with the objective of agreeing upon an outreach process and a decision either at the August 12 GPLAC meeting, or on-line afterwards.
Proposal: That the GPLAC elect its 2018-2019 SGA delegates either at its August 12 meeting or afterwards via on-line vote.
13) Discussion: GPLAC Bylaws regarding filling County Council vacancies (15 minutes)

Background: The current GPLAC bylaw is as follows. This item is meant to discuss whether it should be amended.
Section 8-3 Nominations
8-3.1 Nominees must be registered Greens within the District they wish to represent, and must also gather as many signatures of registered Greens in the district on a petition as defined in 8.4, as would be normally required by the County Registrar to appear on the ballot in that district, for the purposes of being elected to the Los Angeles County Green Party County Council; or for the County Council meetings of March 12, April 23 and June 4, may gather five signatures of registered Greens in the district on a petition as defined in 8.4 and to be appointed, would need 80% approval from the County Council
8-3.2 Any nominee that has satisfied the conditions as stated in 8-3.1 may request that a vote be taken either at the next County Council meeting as long as the nominations have been submitted by the agenda-submittal deadline, or may request that the County Council vote by email, or by teleconferencing, if a teleconference is already scheduled. The Co-Coordinators must agendize the vote as requested by the nominee. If the vote is to occur at an in-person meeting or teleconference, it must be agendized as the first order of business, except if there are elections under 5-2.4 agendized, in which case consideration of appointment of the nominee shall be agendized immediately afterwards.
